Merry Christmas!

We had such a wonderful Christmas. I got lots of new toys from Santa and my grandparents but I think I like the ribbon and bows best!

It was so very nice to see everyone and meet my newest cousin. Thank you to everyone for making my first Christmas so nice!

6-months

I went in for my 6-month check up and all is well. The nurse was very impressed; I took 2 shots before my first sniffle and I only cried for a second once the third hit me. Here are my latest stats:
  • Weight: 19.7 lbs - 80 Percentile
  • Length: 27.5" - 90 Percentile

My doctor thought I'd be getting some more teeth in . . . which should be no surprise with the drooling I've been doing!

SANTA!

I went to see the big man in the red suit this weekend. Unfortunately I was a little cranky but I held still and held back tears long enough to get a picture.

Little Chatterbox!

Some days I like to talk - A LOT!

Mover and Shaker

I still look a little drunk when I crawl but I have figured out to use my legs AND arms. I am pretty fast - mom and dad can't take their eyes off of me because I like to get into anything I'm not supposed to and tend to accidentally bonk my head on the coffee table.

I am also really liking my walker - I've had it for quite some time and can move along but am still working on the steering.

All I Want for Christmas are my 2 Front Teeth!

They've been breaking through for about 2 weeks now - I'm a little angry about it but soon I'll get some big-boy food!

Reece's First Snow

Eh . . . it was cold and it was wet . . .

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with both families. I didn't get any turkey but I did get to play with all of my cousins (and their toys).

Mom and Dad say that they give thanks for family but most of all for happy, healthy, little boys like me!

Check it out -

I'm a strong little boy and can hold myself up pretty well but I need to work on my balance. I am also getting good at scooting around . . . I just need to learn to move my arms and legs together. Pretty soon Mom and Dad are going to have to put up the gates to contain me and protect Nanuq.

Trick-or-Treat! Happy Halloween!

For Halloween we went to a Birthday/Halloween party and I went on my first official trick-or-treating adventure! Dad says I hauled home some good candy but I'd have to trust him.

Where's Mommy's Monkey?

For Halloween I was a Monkey - can you find me? My collection of monkeys is steadily growing. I have lost a few to Nanuq . . . I don't mind sharing but I wish he would ask!

The Great Pumpkin!

A few weekends ago, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Jessica took me to the Pumpkin-Patch. A good time was had by all and most importantly, I got my first pumpkin! (Looks yummy!)

First Veggies!

The doctor gave me the A-OK to start on some veggies. Mom and Dad started me on squash . . . not sure that I particularly liked it but not one to turn food down, I finished the whole thing!

4-Months

Today I went in for my 4-month appointment (a little late). The doctor said I was a 'solid' little boy and gave me an A+ on my check-up. Here are my latest stats:

Weight 17 lb 4 oz (90th Percentile)
Length 27 in (95th Percentile)

I did really good - only a short cry and one tear.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

We had a really good time this weekend (other than the car ride, which was a cry fest both ways : - ( at Bryce's B-day party. Cousin Evan and Lauren got me this cool t-shirt.

not just for jumping

being that I don't usually care to sleep much sometimes I crash in random places.

First Solids

As you may already know, I am a very healthy eater (which would account for my recent 18+lb weigh-in). I am still eating 7 or 8 times a day and have been taking a 6oz bottle at night for quite some time now. We started on cereal and no surprise, I LIKE IT!

Another man in the house, another remote hog

I really like to play with the remote and phone. Anything silverish with buttons and lights! The more expensive the better!

I'M BAAACK . . .

Ok - so Mom has been a little overwhelmed with me (I don't like to sleep and I LOVE to eat) but I think we are getting the hang of things and my blog will get updated more regularly.

TGFMS! (Thank God for My Swing)

This swing has been a huge blessing for Mom and Dad. As Mom has mentioned, I don't like to sleep much except when I am in my swing (or in the car).

PS - A HUGE thanks to my Great Aunt Anna and Uncle Paul! This has been a life saver!

Activity Mat

Some of Mommy's friends sent us a gift card so we picked up this activity mat . . . at first I wasn't sure about these guys . . .

. . . but once I started playing by myself (3 mo.) I decided that I liked my new friends a lot. Especially my giraffe.

HANDS!

I have discovered my hands (3 mo) - still trying to figure them out. I like to clasp them together and am starting to hang onto things (Mommy's hair included!).

Jumperoo

I am a mover and shaker so we invested in a jumperoo. I have greatly enjoyed spending time in it (as have Mom and Dad). I like to stand, move side-to-side, and of course, JUMP!

3-Months

We finally went in for my first professional portraits. I am normally very smiley but when the cameras come out, the smile shuts down. Even though they couldn't catch me smiling, we still liked these pictures anyway.

Bumbo

Its a little snug - my chunky thighs barely fit and sometimes my butt gets wedged in it but being that I don't care to recline too far back I like it!

2-months

Mom and Dad took me in for my 2-month appointment. Mom and I cried when I got my shots but thankfully I showed no ill effects once I calmed down.

Weight: 15.75 lbs - 90th Percentile
Length: 23.75 in - 75th Percentile

The Expressions of Reece

GO TECH!

I'm all set and ready for Texas Tech to start their football season. Go Tech!

WHAAA!!!! I got strep, you got strep, we all got strep!

It was a rough week here at home. Dad came home with strep throat and then I got a strep infection on my skin (my doc says they probably aren't related but just a very odd coincidence). Mommy ran a fever and had a sore throat for a while but maybe it was just stress.
I am a good medicine taker - I actually liked taking my medicine! Thankfully everyone is all better now.

Time to Play!

I am having longer periods of play time and am very smiley when I have a full belly.

Sleeping Angel or Little Monster

I still don't sleep for long periods but when I do I sure am cute!

I can be a little monster at times but Mom and Dad love me anyway!

Bath Time!

My umbillical stump finally fell off so I got my first big-boy bath and unlike diaper changes, I really like bath time.

A couple of things about me -

I was born with LOTS of hair.
I don't mind being dirty. I DO mind being changed.
I like to eat every 2 hours so Mom and Dad are SUPER tired.
I don't really look like either of my parent's thus far but I did get Dad's cleft chin and Mom's lips - other than that we will have to wait and see.

Lets Go Home

After a few days in the hospital we are finally going home. Daddy is ready to get out of here after having to sleep on a tiny sofa for 3 nights but Mom will miss all of my super-nice nurses who helped care for me morning, noon, and night.

Mom was in labor all day Friday, although she thought it was false labor for most of the day. By the time she realized she was in REAL labor she was in panic mode trying to track down Dad who was in a meeting across town. Thankfully we made it to the hospital with more than enough time.
