Thanksgiving Feast

Both kids had Thanksgiving Feasts with their friends at school. Each made a place mat with 5 things that they were thankful for.

(bus, I pad, friends, school, teddy bear)
Mom got the usual introductions that she gets each time she (Brennan, his best friend, Ryan, she's a girl, Ryland, Aiden G and Aiden R ... Blair, Regan, Carly). After their snack, the kids sang a few songs and each said what they were thankful for. Reece said he was thankful for his teacher and Mom and Dad are too - she has been great and Reece really likes going to school.

These Boots are Made for Walking

Every time Madelyn wears boots we get a mini performance of "These Boots are Made for Walking" (Mommy and Daddy are scared).

Happy Halloween

This year Reece decided he wanted to be a robot (and so followed sister). The costumes ended up being less than comfortable but both kids seemed to like them and their haul of candy. Reece's favorite thing about Halloween was 1) Aunt J and 2) being a robot so the night was a definite success.

Pumpkin Carving

With our resident construction managers on hand and power tools the job went quickly ... however, Mom apparently forgot to take a picture of the final product : - (

School Parades

The robot costumes were not comfortable enough for school (barely comfortable for Trick or Treating but that is another entry).
Reece was a construction worker and wore his ensemble all day long.

For the parade at Madelyn's school we selected something from our dress up collection. We settled on Alice in Wonderland. She was the only child who wanted to wear their costume all day and she wore it until it was time for bath.

Sidewalk Chalk ... something else messy to occupy our time

Now that the weather is nice we have been using a lot of sidewalk chalk. Reece makes a variety of hop-scotch paths.

Madelyn's First Day of Preschool 2014

With a quick wardrobe change and Abby in hand Madelyn was ready for her first day of 2 year old pre-k. It was a nice change from last year, Mom got a hug and a kiss and off she went with no tears.

Bus Ride ... and the Emmy goes to ... Reece

We call this his Emmy Award speech ... it happens daily during pickup.

Reece's First Day of Kindergarten

It is official ... Reece is a big boy (tear).
He was super excited to start Kindergarten and had no problem at all with Mom and Dad leaving.

Ready for Swim

One of the few things we have kept up with this summer is swimming. Reece is quite the swimmer and Madelyn is of course fearless.

Family Reunion

The family gathered in Galveston to celebrate Grammy's 90th birthday. It was so nice to meet so many wonderful people. Reece really seemed to enjoy meeting 3 cousins in particular (all 5 yrs old and born within 3 months of each other).

Happy 5th Birthday Reece

Our little Minion is officially 5. He is so incredibly smart with letters and other random topics that he becomes obsessed with (i.e. the solar system). In addition to letters, he has become obsessed with playdoh and modeling clay.
Height: 3ft 9in (94%)
Weight: 51lb (94%)
We have had a very busy several months between Daddy not being well and Grandpa being in the hospital but we were fortunate to have planned a birthday party waaay in advance.
We had a Minion themed party at the local jump-house place where we had lots of our school friends come help us celebrate.

His actual birthday was a bit unceremonious aside for lunch with Daddy where the crew at Pappasitos sung to him.

Last Day of School 2014 - Day of Frozen

(Madelyn has a slight attachment to Ms. Annie)

Preschool Graduation

Reece is moving on to Kindergarten next year and preschool concluded with a graduation ceremony. Reece gave the opening prayer ... which worried Mommy and Daddy (he wanted to give thanks to a long list of people and things [including the alphabet]) but his teachers were able to get him to keep it simple. We are so proud of him and continuously amazed by how smart he is.

Happy Mother's Day

(Hopefully cooking skips a generation and Reece and Madelyn will be good cooks like their grandmoms ; - )

Picnic

Our activities have been limited the past month or so but thankfully the weather has been super nice so we have gotten to enjoy lots of picnics at home.
